The Power of Google

PPC Management, the power of Google

Not so long ago nobody had even heard of the word Google let alone a search engine with the same name. Since its launch in way back in 1996 in a small garage in Menio Park, California Google has become the world's most popular search engine knocking the likes of Yahoo and MSN from their top search engine perch and then some! The other big search engines underestimated the new upstarts and have to watch Google come from nowhere and rise to the top in a few short years..

The clever idea the founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin had was to invent a formula where advertisers could pay to be listed and only pay a fee once their ad was clicked upon by a user for a search related keyword, PPC (Pay Per Click) was born.

The idea was an instant success and Google is now one, if not the biggest internet based company on the planet. The power of Google can be felt all over the world from small companies to major blue chip corporations. Getting a first page listing on Google for a high searched term can be make or break for a company. Advertisers pay billions of pounds each year to Google and the once small Google has become a very big cash hungry monster.

Over the years Google has changed many things with its search algorithms but the key principles have stayed the same; Google wants the users search enquiry to be relevant and quick whether using its natural listings or via its PPC adverts. Webmasters have had to keep up and learn quickly as Google can change things without any real prior warning and one day your page 1 listing can suddenly drop to page 2 and so on.

The power of Google is massive and any new website owner has to get up to speed quickly to keep up with the game if they want traffic on to their website. If you are not on the first 2 pages of Google then you aren't going to get the traffic and the sales. It is as simple as that.
